3 icons: the history of manilatown
Course: Visual Communications 1
Illustrator
A set of three graphic icons representing the history of San Francisco's Manilatown. It takes inspiration and symbolism from the activist Al Robles and his poetry about the area. It also is inspired by native Filipino art, particularly color and shape language. It seeks to portray the emotion and heartbreak the people of Manilatown endured in the 1950s-70s through the fractured composition and deep colors.
